DR. SATCHIN PANDA | Light, Circadian Rhythm & Our Pets' Health
Updated: May 13, 2020
Leading circadian rhythm expert, and author of "The Circadian Code", Dr. Satchin Panda sits down with Rodney and Dr. Becker on the relationship between environment, circadian rhythm, and our pets' health. This bonus segment is a sneak-peak clip from Rodney and Dr. Becker's upcoming book The Forever Dog.
Dr. Satchidananda (Satchin) Panda is the leading expert in the field of circadian rhythm research. He is a Professor in the Regulatory Biology Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and founding member of the Center for Circadian Biology at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Panda is a Pew Scholar and a recipient of the The Julie Martin Mid-Career Award in Aging Research. His research is concerned with the circadian clock (the internal program that mediates daily rhythms), health, and longevity. In particular, he investigates the relationship between circadian rhythms and: light/dark cycles, time-restricted eating, the mediation of the immune system, and improving the efficacy of drugs by better timing their administration to the body's rhythms. His book "The Circadian Code: Lose Weight, Supercharge Your Energy, and Transform Your Health from Morning to Midnight" looks at resetting the body's clock through lifestyle changes in order to achieve better overall health.
